Our Story
In 2018, our owners, Keynn and Kenneth Cain, invested everything they had in opening our little ice cream shop, so the success of Ohana was a necessity. It was a labor of love in the beginning to navigate the challenges of a budding business during the pandemic. However, we pushed through it because we believe in providing our customers with great food and a special experience.
We offer more than 30 flavors of shave ice to our customers here at Ohana Ice and Treats. Shave ice originated in Hawaii, so in order to provide an authentic Hawaiian experience, we get all of our high quality syrup straight from the source. The name of our shop comes from the Hawaiian word for “family,” and we extend this sentiment to our patrons. At Ohana Ice & Treats, you come in as a stranger, but leave as family.
Our shop is adorned with Hawaiian décor so you can feel like you’re on vacation without leaving the city. We pride ourselves in offering top-notch customer service and premium products of the highest quality. We are available for private parties and events and we look forward to introducing Chicago to our mobile ice cream truck very soon.

We offer a variety of flavors like mocha, strawberry, and mint fashioned after the Thin Mints Girl Scout cookie. Our toppings options include Oreos, rainbow sprinkles, hot fudge, and chocolate and caramel syrup.
